The lack of adequate and immersive training methods in electrical construction results in reduced workforce efficiency and increased safety risks.
The VR training simulation significantly improves worker skills, reduces on-site accidents, and enhances overall project efficiency.
We made an easy-to-use system that helps students learn how to weld using VR. It shows them what to do and how to do it with pictures and touch feedback. We tested our system with 24 beginners and found out that they learned better with VR than with videos. They could also do better in real welding situations after using VR.
The VR welding simulation project can potentially save up to 68% of the training costs and 50% of the training time compared to conventional methods. It can also increase the quality and quantity of the welding workforce by attracting more students to enroll in welding courses and improving their retention and graduation rates.
